Road Trip
We are learning to use this road trip to calculate how much we spent, how long we took and what attraction we did and the cost of the attraction. This is my road trip maths presentation we had a 10 day plan touring the NZ and the attractions. I also had worked with Pippa, Robyn, Niamh. Our Budget was past infinity but over all we spent over $1,492.28 dollars.
Art
- (Starting from left down.) This is my purple veined fish underwater using the outdoor leaves and sticks and made this the background is also made out of leaves but in a blue crayon.I also out lined the fish in red to make the fish more bolder.
- For inquiry we were doing a space theme and to make it more space like we choose to do a space monster or creation this is mine below. So what we had to do is paint half of the picture then folded the it then after being sure that the whole picture was well spread then unfolding the picture then your creation would be finished.
- This is my purple, green and blue planet. The purple represents my favorite colour and different than others. The green represents the grass like earth. The blue resents the water, ocean and sea.

Safer Than Safe
Safer Than Safe
Do you need a safer place to place your computers ,iPads or even your phones or other valuables. Our main point today is to “talk” the safety of your computer.
Having a safe underneath the desks, will make it faster to grab your device and also make more learning for the class. Another upside to having a safe under your desk is that while you’re rushing to the cabinet you won’t be hurting your knees, legs or falling over or not even be getting bruised by the chairs, so you won’t have to be bruised any longer if you get a safe under your desk now. There might be a possibility that you drop your computer and it might smash in all of the rampage.
Having it under your desk would make it a lot faster because you won’t be having to keep getting up at morning tea or lunch time to get your computer from the cabinets all at the same time.
Some people are irresponsible and especially not that good at remembering things and putting their own computer away when it comes to morning tea or lunchtime.
So what I think that they should install special safes under all the schools desks for safe places than a cabinet and since the whole school next year is going digital this would be a great change for the school.

Taste (Writing)
Taste !!!

We have 5 different senses smell, taste, hear, feel, see these are our 5 senses but the one we are going to be talking about today is taste. Our mouth is amazing it helps us taste things like avocado, oranges, pizza, pork, mushroom sauce. I know what you're thinking WOW I didn’t know my tongue did all these things. Well let’s learn more. - What are the parts of the tongue? and
- What is the tongues purpose?
My first topic is what are the parts of the tongue and the answer I got was there are 4 different sour,sweet/salty,bitter, The tongue is split up into five different parts but there are four tastes. Bitter at the back sour on both sides, sweet in the middle and sweet and salty which is placed in the area near the tip of your tongue. What is the tongues purpose? This muscular organ is vital for jump-starting the digestive process by guiding and molding food as well as perceiving its taste and texture, shaping the mouth to create speech and, of course, kissing. It’s purpose is to swallow and protects you from swallowing poison;
- Facts about the tongue?
The anterior part of the tongue is the visible part at the front and is about two-thirds of the tongue's length.
Diabetes (Homework)
This is my (Storm's) homework on diabetes which took me 2 weeks |
Diabetes
Type 1
Type 1 often referred to as juvenile diabetes, type 1 diabetes is a form of diabetes mellitus that is most common in children but can be diagnosed at any age. Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that permanently destroys beta cells in the pancreas, meaning that the body can no longer produce insulin. People with type 1 diabetes therefore require
regular insulin delivery to manage their diabetes
Type 2
Type 2 diabetes mellitus, formerly known as non-insulin-dependent or adult-onset diabetes), is a globally common metabolic (is of or pertaining to the immune response of an organism against any of its own tissues, cells, or cell components)disorder that results from the body's ineffective use of insulin. Accounting for roughly 90% of all diabetes cases worldwide, type 2 diabetes is strongly associated with excess body weight and a lack of physical activity, and is now becoming more common in young adults, teens and children.
1. Is there a cure for early diabetes
Type 2
There is no cure for type 2 that people know about. But people can do something to control.
2. What is the cause of diabetes
Type 1
Type 1 is caused by the lack of insulin and not being able to produce enough insulin for themselves. The immune system can also attack and destroys the beta cells. The immune system protects the body from infection by finding and destroying bacteria, viruses, and some other harmful things that can damage the body. In autoimmune (aw-toh-i-myoon) diseases. The immune system attacks the body’s own cells and beta cell destruction may take place over several years, but symptoms of the disease usually develop over a short period of time.
3. What is the cure to diabetes
Cures for both type 1 and type 2 diabetes have proved elusive(eluding clear perception or complete mental grasp; hard to express or define: an elusive concept.) to medical science.
Although people with type 2 diabetes can go into remission(A disappearance of a disease as a result of treatment. Complete remission means that all disease is gone. Partial remission means that the disease is significantly improved by treatment, but residual traces of the disease are still present or A disappearance of a disease as a result of treatment. Complete remission means that all disease is gone. Partial remission means that the disease is significantly improved by treatment, but residual traces of the disease are still present.), at this stage there is no widely available, complication-free cure for type 1 diabetes.
However, the root causes and mechanism behind both forms of the disease are becoming more clearly understood all the time.
Diabetes is a number of diseases that involve problems with the hormone insulin. not everyone with type 2 diabetes is overweight,
Did You Know?
In a healthy person, the pancreas (an organ behind the stomach) releases insulin to help the body store and use the sugar from the food you eat. Diabetes happens when the pancreas does not produce any insulin or when the pancreas produces very little insulin.
Did you know these 19 facts about
diabetes?
- About one third of all people with diabetes do not know they have the disease.
- Type 2 diabetes often does not have any symptoms.
- Only about five percent of all people with diabetes have type 1 diabetes.
- If you are at risk, type 2 diabetes can be prevented with moderate weight loss (10–15 pounds) and 30 minutes of moderate physical activity (such as brisk walking) each day.
- A meal plan for a person with diabetes isn’t very different than that which is recommended for people without diabetes.
- Diabetes is the leading cause of blindness in working-age adults.
- People with diabetes are twice as likely to develop heart disease than someone without diabetes.
- Good control of diabetes significantly reduces the risk of developing complications and prevents complications from getting worse.
- Bariatric surgery can reduce the symptoms of diabetes in obese people.
- Diabetes costs $174 billion annually, including $116 billion in direct medical expenses.
- There is an emerging global epidemic of diabetes that can be traced back to rapid increases in overweight, obesity and physical inactivity.
- Total deaths from diabetes are projected to rise by more than 50% in the next 10 years. Most notably, they are projected to increase by over 80% in upper-middle income countries.
- Type 1 diabetes is characterized by a lack of insulin production and type 2 diabetes results from the body's ineffective use of insulin.
- Type 2 diabetes is much more common than type 1 diabetes, and accounts for around 90% of all diabetes worldwide.
- Reports of type 2 diabetes in children - previously rare - have increased worldwide. In some countries, it accounts for almost half of newly diagnosed cases in children and adolescents.
- A third type of diabetes is gestational diabetes. This type is characterized by hyperglycemia, or raised blood sugar, which is first recognized during pregnancy.
- 80% of diabetes deaths are now occurring in low- and middle-income countries.
- Lack of awareness about diabetes, combined with insufficient access to health services, can lead to complications such as blindness, amputation and kidney failure.
- Diabetes can be prevented. Thirty minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity on most days and a healthy diet can drastically reduce the risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
